In 2023, we remind all that back in 1997 ADA Joe Burford took these notes. In these notes it is clearly recorded that Megan Bruton told the Assistant District attorney that she told Scott that David Coffin had been shot that first night. This knowledge was unknown to anyone at that time other than apparently Megan. This was guilty knowledge because no one knew how Mr. Coffin had died.
Yet prosecutors let Megan Bruton lie in Scott’s trial to further their misconduct filled prosecution. They let her change her story to claim Scott told her this information when we all know that was a lie. Just read the notes. Why over 25 years later do we not have an answer about how Megan knew this information and why prosecutors allowed her to do egregiously commit perjury when no evidence supported her and evidence like this disproves her?
It’s time to get answers and let Scott go! Can we just be fair after 18 years? No one has ever investigated this and no one has ever explained it. It makes no sense to further this lie. We believe that the district attorney has the Integrity to honestly take a look at this and correct a mistake from the previous district attorney. Please support us in this effort.
