This is the major question we are trying to answer today. For now we have removed a considerable amount of information on this website because we are investigating actively John Teasley as the person behind these crimes. The major question that we have always had is how did Megan have the information that David Coffin had been shot in the head that first evening?
This has been the most contested piece of evidence in the case. The question we have now is did John Teasley give her this information and did Megan innocently confuse the events and timeline to cause her changing testimony concerning this fact? Has she innocently made the mistake and unfairly put Scott in prison for the last 19 years? We don’t know but we’re hoping to find out. We hope that this was a mistake that can be corrected based on the new evidence against Teasley and the hope that Megan will review the events of that night and take this new information to jog her memory. Megan has stated that those first hours were stressful confusing and cloudy for a lot of reasons including the fact that she took a valium. We understand this. So let’s go over the events concerning this.
A 12:08 a.m. Megan called Jennifer Jenacova and told her that David Coffin had been shot in the head. At 12:18 Megan called Scott and told him that David Coffin had been shot and that he was dead. Later that evening detectives interviewed Scott and he stated that he did not shoot Coffin and detectives asked how he knew this information and Scott said Megan told him. Megan was questioned that first evening and stated that she did not know how David had died. That is version number one. A few days later as recently turned over notes from The district attorney show, Megan told assistant district attorney Joe Burford that she in fact gave Scott the information that David had been shot. Somehow the DA did not ask Megan how she knew this information which is strange in it’s own. All the charges were dropped against Scott but a year later after a large reward was offered, Megan’s story and possibly her cloudy memory changed and now her story was that Scott told her that David had been shot. As we know from the timeline and numerous witnesses this is impossible but yet the district attorney did not challenge these events or her statement. When Megan testified a trial this is what she stated in that Scott allegedly gave her this information while he was on the phone with her standing next to police. First of all the timing is all wrong because she had already given Jennifer this information. Secondly police don’t remember any discussion of someone being shot in the head which of course they would have noted during these events at Scott stated it on the phone. The story is impossible.
Now that we know John Teasley has been named as the person behind these events, our belief is that Megan called John Teasley that first evening just as she called numerous other people and likely she called him or he called her first. During this conversation Teasley somehow discussed or stated that David Coffin had been shot in the head. Megan then related thisversion of these events to the other people she spoke to on the phone and this is how the actual events transpired. Giving Megan the benefit of the doubt, we believe that possibly the Valium and the stress the events confused her memory. Now that we know this however concerning John Teasley being named as the suspect behind these crimes, we hope this new information will jog Megan’s memory to the actual truth. We hope that she will remember that John Teasley gave her this information and will honestly and forthrightly come forward to correct a horrible wrong against Scott. After 19 years in prison, we believe that all of this new information combined would allow Scott to be free.
If Megan does not remember the events as such or in some similar fashion, we believe then there is only one answer and that is that Megan was complicit in the crimes with John teasley. The moment we are waiting for third party investigators to continue and finish their investigation into these events. We have no control over these investigators so we are simply waiting to see what Megan says and for other evidence being investigated concerning those who committed the crimes.
