Hey GBI, this is why it is important to preserve fingerprint evidence!

If you have been following Scott’s case, you would know that fingerprints were collected from a crime scene in the death of David Coffin. IMMEDIATELY, detectives thought the fingerprints were Scott’s and had the GBI compare them but of course they DID NOT MATCH!

What did the GBI do with them? Run then thru AFIS as SOP requires, no. They hold them for nine years, try to match them to the victim unsuccessfully, and then DESTROY them right before Scott is indicted. Then they lie about it all. Do far, the courts haven’t cared. We hope that will change soon.

This is why it is so important to preserve evidence. Seems obvious doesn’t it?
